The Central Arkansas Section of the American Chemical Society offers a variety of travel grants, awards, and nominations at various points throughout the year. 

Central Arkansas Outstanding Chemistry High School Teacher

Purpose: Each year at the Central AR ACS local section awards banquet,

we honor an exceptional high school chemistry teacher from our section. 

Eligibility: This award is open to any high school chemistry teacher in the jurisdiction of the Central Arkansas Section of ACS.

Nominations: High school students may submit ONE letter nominating ONE chemistry teacher from their school who has made a difference in their lives. Within the letter, please explain why your nominee is so exceptional.

Central Arkansas Outstanding Chemistry Professor

Purpose: Each year at the Central AR ACS local section awards banquet, we honor an exceptional chemistry professor from our section. 

Eligibility: This award is open to any chemistry professor or instructor at a university or college in the jurisdiction of the Central Arkansas Section of ACS. 

 

Nominations: Each student chapter may submit ONE letter nominating ONE chemistry professor who has made a difference in their lives. Within the letter, please explain why your nominee is so exceptional.

Central Arkansas ACS Awards Ceremony University/College Student Recognition

Purpose: Each year at the Central AR ACS local section awards banquet, we recognize students from area colleges that played a significant role in their ACS chapter or department.

Eligibility: This nomination is open to any students at a university or college in the jurisdiction of the Central Arkansas Section of ACS. 

 

Nominations: Each faculty mentor/student chapter may submit nominations for students within their chapter or department. No letter is required for this recognition and multiple nominations can be made within one form submission.

Undergraduate Travel Award

Purpose: Central Arkansas ACS offers a travel award to defray

travel and/or registration costs to present papers/posters at a

national ACS meeting for undergraduates at colleges and

universities within the Central Arkansas Section's geographical

region to . Eligible expenses can be meeting registration or travel

expenses, such as airfare and lodging. 

Eligibility: This award is open to undergraduate  students within the Central Arkansas Section's geographical region. The award is not intended for graduate students or post‐doctoral fellows.

 

Nominations: Each award will be for $200 and award of this stipend will be based on the review of the following materials. The completed application form, which can be found in the drop down menu of this page, must be submitted eight (8) weeks before the scheduled meeting date for the presentation.

SWRM Student Presenter Travel Scholarships

Purpose: Each year the Southwest Regional Meeting provides up to ten $500 travel scholarships for students who are presenting papers.

Eligibility: Each local section may put one student forward for a scholarship. The student must be the presenter of the paper. Priority will be given to students traveling the farthest to the meeting, based on the mileage from the home institution (which must be in the Southwest Region of the ACS).

 

Nominations: Central AR ACS will take applications from students for this award. The completed application form, which can be found in the drop down menu of this page, must be submitted 60 days before the scheduled meeting date for the presentation.

Local Section Officer Nominations

Purpose: To nominate members for participation in the 

Central Arkansas ACS executive committee.

Eligibility: Any member of the Central Arkansas local section may be nominated.

 

Nominations: Nominators must complete the nomination form which can be found in the drop down menu of this page.
